Race Report MXGP Italien Faenza 2

Deutsch: Seewer feiert seinen ersten MXGP-Rennsieg und den zweiten Podiumsplatz in Folge. In der siebten Runde des MXGP in Faenza, schreitet er weiter in Richtung dritten Gesamtrang vor.

Erstes Rennen: Seewer verfolgte eine ganz klare Mission, einen Laufsieg in der Königsklasse. Dies gelang ihm ausgezeichnet, nachdem Jeremy in den letzten vier Rennen diesem Ziel immer nahegekommen war, ging diesmal endlich in Erfüllung. Der Schweizer war von Anfang an stark unterwegs und passierte nach 6 Minuten Renndistanz Evans und nahm dann die Verfolgung zu Prado auf. Als die Uhr noch 12Minuten Fahrzeit anzeigte, übernahm Seewer die Führung.

Von da an blickte die 91 nicht mehr zurück. Er gewann schliesslich seinen ersten Grand-Prix in der MXGP-Klasse mit mehr als 15- Sekunden Vorsprung.

Zweites Rennen: Seewers Entschlossenheit wurde im zweiten Rennen des Tages noch grösser, als er von einem schlechten Start, sich ausserhalb der Top 15 eindrucksvoll seinen Weg durch das Feld bahnte. Nach einem ausserordentlichen Kampf mit Romain Febvre und Clement Desalle konnte die 91 seine YZ450 F auf den siebten Platz bringen. Trotz seiner Bemühungen, die Top-Fünf zu erreichen, bedeutete ein kleiner Sturz als er Febvre um den 6. Platz herausforderte, dass er sich mit dem 7. Platz zufriedengeben musste. Dies reichte jedoch immer noch aus, um den 3. Platz zu erreichen. Die Enttäuschung, nicht den Gesamtsieg erlangt zu haben, war Seewer deutlich ins Gesicht geschrieben. Die Strecke erwies sich als besonders herausfordernd, welcher viel Respekt und Aufmerksamkeit entgegengebracht werden musste.

Seewer konnte wichtige Meisterschaftspunkte sammeln und rückte auf den 4. Gesamtplatz vor, mit nur 20 Punkten hinter dem 3. Platzierten Tim Gaiser.

Die dritte und letzte Runde in Faenza findet am Sonntag den 13. September statt.

After Race Talk with Jeremy: Das erste Rennen war super gut. Ich habe mich auf der Strecke sehr wohl gefühlt, es lief sehr rund, ich habe keine Fehler gemacht und fühlte mich einfach grossartig, meinen ersten MXGP-Sieg zu erlangen. Einfach unglaublich! Ich habe mich dann auf den 2. Lauf konzentriert, leider lief dieser nicht so wie ich ihn mir vorgestellt hatte. Ich kann nicht erklären, weshalb mein Bike nach dem Start Schwierigkeiten mit der Drehzahl hatte und der Motor fast ausschaltete. Wir müssen nun herausfinden, ob es mein Fehler war oder ob das Bike Schwierigkeiten machte, wir werden dies später sehen. Es gelang mir einige Piloten zu überholen, blieb aber hinter Clement Desalle und verlor dabei ein Bisschen meinen Rhythmus. Dann machte ich einen Fehler bei der Jagd nach Romain Febvre. Es war schön auf dem Podium zu stehen, wieder war der Tagessieg zum greifen nahe. Nun schauen wir auf das nächste Rennen am Sonntag.

English: Seewer celebrates Maiden MXGP Race Win & Second Consecutive Podium Finish Jeremy Seewer celebrate a maiden MXGP race win on his way to third overall at the seventh round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Faenza, Italy.

Race one: After coming tantalizingly close to his first-ever premier class race win on three occasions during the past four rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship, Seewer lined up today as a man on a mission.

Right from the first gate drop, the Swiss rider was strong. He had his YZ450FM pinned off the line as he charged past a handful of MXGP protagonists on his way to taking second position on Lap-3. With a fraction of clear track ahead, approximately 5-seconds worth, Seewer set his sights on the early leader, Jorge Prado, and was able to catch and pass the Spaniard with 10-minutes left on the clock From there, the ’91’ never looked back. He eventually went on to win his first Grand Prix race inside the MXGP class by more than 15-seconds. His victory marks the eighth of his professional career – he claimed seven race wins in MX2. Race two: Seewer’s determination was magnified in the final race of the day as he bounced back from a poor start and impressively diced his way through the field from outside of the top-15. After an immense battle with Romain Febvre and Clement Desalle, the ‘91’ was able to steer his YZ450FM up into seventh position. Despite his best efforts to catch the top-five, a small crash while challenging Febvre for sixth meant he had to settle for seventh, which was still enough to mount the third step of the podium.

The circuit proved extra challenging today with the hilly hard-packed terrain demanding respect and a careful eye. With the current series leader absent, third overall awarded Seewer crucial championship points. He has moved up to fourth in the Championship Classification, 20-points shy of the rider.

The third and final round of the Italian tripleheader, will take place here in Faenza on Sunday 13th September.

After Race Talk with Jeremy: First race was super good. I felt really comfortable out there, super smooth, didn’t make any mistakes and just felt great for my first MXGP win. It feels amazing! I was already focused for the second moto because I felt great today, but then it didn’t go my way. I can’t explain why, my bike dropped RPM off the start and almost stopped, so we need to check there if it was something that was my fault or if it is the bike, we will see later. I passed a few guys but got stuck behind Clement Desalle and lost my rhythm a bit and then I made a mistake chasing Romain (Febvre). It was still nice to be on the podium, but again, today the win was almost there. So now we look to Sunday.”
